2019 Traineeship Positions

St Martins Lutheran College is seeking applications from positive and enthusiastic recent Year 12 graduates to join their team.  We are offering five traineeships for 2019.

  • Education Support (4 positions)
  • Marketing and Events (1 position)

Duties will include:

Education Support Trainee:

  • Provide educational assistance to students under the supervision of the teacher.
  • Observe student learning and behaviour and pass on concerns to the teacher.
  • Support student learning as directed by the teacher.
  • Assist the teacher in maintaining positive communication with parents/carers.
  • Assist with preparation of class resources under teacher direction.
  • Assist with filing of student information.
  • Assist with classroom organisation including setting up and tidying.

Marketing and Events Trainee:

  • Supporting the Marketing and Events Officer by:
    • Recording school events using the College camera both on and off campus. 
    • Maintaining and updating photography archives.
    • Event support including catering, furnishings, decorations, setup and clean up.
  • Maintain the College’s social media platforms.
  • Prepare the College newsletter.
  • Provide ad-hoc administration support.


  • Most hold (or be willing to obtain) a Department Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) clearance for working with children.
  • Organisational and time management skills including the ability to cope with high volumes of work, changing priorities and meeting critical deadlines.
  • Be supportive of the Christian ethos of the College. 
  • Interpersonal skills that portray a welcoming atmosphere, friendly disposition and helpful nature.


The traineeships are for a 12-month period, which will include completing a Certificate 3 in a related discipline.  Position descriptions can be found below.  The Marketing and Events Traineeship has the potential to be an ongoing position at the completion of the traineeship, for the right applicant.
